Happy October!

Happy October! Things are moving right along in the math classroom. 7th grade math is learning all about solving equations involving special angles. 8th grade is learning more and more about variables, expressions and equations as an introduction to algebra. It has been awesome to see your students grow so much already this year! A few reminders:

  • Students should be checking their grades in my classroom weekly and completing make up work, if necessary. Everything that is graded can be retaken for a better grade!

  • Be on the lookout for a sheet about access to ParentVue. This is where you can have access in real time to your student’s grades. You can also call the office at 503-916-5686 for the info.

  • 8th graders: High school credit will be offered for math starting 2nd quarter during 7th period. You must have an HP in your normal class to be considered. Please talk with your student and with me if you are interested in this class.

  • Students are assigned a weekly homework page that is due on Friday. Additionally, students should be reviewing their math notebooks every night for at least 5 minutes. Ask to see theirs tonight!

  • Due to allergy and sanitary concerns, students should not be sharing food or drinks at school. Food should not be brought into classrooms, and only water is allowed in class.

  • We are doing our best to keep up with the new dress code this year. Tops must be navy blue, red, or white with a collar showing. Bottoms must be khaki, navy or black. Denim jeans are not permitted. If you have questions or need assistance with uniforms, please let us know. Additionally, if you have items (any size) that you would like to donate to our clothing closet, we would be so grateful!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I love hearing from you! Looking forward to an awesome month of learning and growing!
