Welcome back Faubion Families and get ready for an exciting year in the mid-level mathematics classroom! I hope you were able to spend some meaningful and relaxing time with family over the summer. Now it's time to get back in the swing of things and develop those mathematician brains!
It's been so great to get to know your student during this first week of school. On the first day, students participated in a marshmallow challenge to see who could build the tallest tower using spaghetti, tape and string. Ask your student how tall their group's tower was and what they learned about team collaboration and construction in the process! This year, all eighth graders will be in Compacted Math. This means every eighth grader has the opportunity to receive a high school credit while in middle school! Wahoo! Be sure to keep up on what's going on in class by checking their daily planner, encourage your middle schooler to review their interactive notebooks each night and practice with the weekly homework assignments to keep them on track for their high school credit! I look forward to meeting you and giving you more information at our Curriculum Night. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me at mackron@pps.net. I'd love to hear from you!
Go Bulldogs!
